Jennifer C. Zegarelli focuses her practice on criminal defense and civil litigation. Prior to joining the firm, she had extensive criminal defense experience handling violations, misdemeanors and felonies in federal and state court throughout New York State. In addition, she has been involved in numerous cases representing crime victims. These experiences have prepared her to passionately defend and protect her clients' rights.
In 2003, Ms. Zegarelli received her J.D. from Vermont Law School where she served as the Administrative Editor and Web Editor for Vermont Journal of Environmental Law. While in law school, she clerked at Fix, Spindelman, Brovitz & Goldman, P.C. in Rochester, New York and interned at the Monroe County Courthouse, Seventh Judicial District of New York. From January to April, 2003, Ms. Zegarelli interned at the South Royalton Legal Clinic in South Royalton, Vermont, where she received high honors for her work. At the South Royalton Legal Clinic, she represented people unable to afford private counsel in various civil cases. In 2000, Ms. Zegarelli graduated magna cum laude with Honors in Economics from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She was named to the Dean's List and was a scholar-athlete all four years.
Ms. Zegarelli is admitted to practice in New York, the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York and the United States Supreme Court. She has also been admitted pro hac vice in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York. Ms. Zegarelli also practices before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the New York Court of Appeals.
